Founded in 2006, The Lightbulb Factory is a communications training company teaching students to harness their intellect and combine it with eloquence. Its principles, methods and curriculum are products of more than a decade’s combined experience in training people to communicate effectively.

We conceptualise and conduct customised workshops, day camps and development programs in persuasive speaking, analytical responsiveness and debating. We teach students to use effective communication in navigating the classroom, competitions and life.

Our holistic approach develops these essential skills by focusing on both substance (what you say) and style (how you say it). Our trainers are all exemplary in these areas, having years of experience in the national and international debating and public speaking arenas.

The Lightbulb Factory is founded by our Managing Director Vishal Harnal and our Chief Knowledge Officer Jonathan Pflug. Both our founders have extensive communications and public speaking experience.

Both are World Championship debaters. Vishal was the Director of Training Programs for Singapore’s most respected debating association and the 2nd ranked speaker in Asia. Jonathan was Asia’s first World No 1 debater ever, and was the youngest coach ever appointed by the MOE to train Singapore’s national team.
